In 2025, The Shepherd of the Hills Outdoor Drama marks its 65th season, solidifying its status as one of America's longest-running outdoor theatrical productions. Since its debut in 1960, this iconic performance has brought to life Harold Bell Wright's 1907 novel, immersing audiences in the rich tapestry of Ozark history and culture.​

Set against the backdrop of the picturesque Ozark Mountains, the drama unfolds on a stage the size of a football field, featuring over 90 actors, live animals, and authentic period sets. Audiences are transported to the late 1800s, witnessing a story filled with romance, mystery, and moral lessons that remain relevant today. Highlights include dramatic shootouts, the burning of a log cabin, and a heartfelt tribute to veterans. ​

To commemorate this milestone, Shepherd of the Hills has planned a series of special events and activities starting May 10th. These celebrations aim to honor the legacy of the drama and its impact on generations of theatergoers.
